"Caroline I can't hear you though I try, though I try"
Caroline felt like a past life. Something I had to sing but couldn't remember why. It started out as a purely electronic song, sort of a flirtation with techno. We took it into studio and recorded live drums and bass, took out the dance beat, and ended up with a unique, different creature.
lyrics
Caroline I can't hear you
Though I try, Though I try
I have seen my whole future
In your eyes, In your lie
And we both know I've been broken
by some words you had to say
So please don't make up your reasons
Just to take my breath away
I won't start the fight
I can't make you right
I can't turn my head
Your stories spun too tight
The worm is in my head
Your love is left for dead
You killed it on the day
You put him in my bed
So here it goes, the sweet surrender
A million suns, down the drain
Those waking hours of holding you till
Both our hearts beat just the same
I won't start the fight
I can't kill the lights
I can't turn my head
Your stories spun too tight
The worm is in my head
Your love is left for dead
You killed it on the day
You took him to my bed
