about

"Show the Suit some Soul"

I started out the best way - with a tin-can drum loop and an obnoxious synth line. Found a steel guitar sample on keyboard and decided it was just a manlier harpsichord. The song made me smile through the entire process. It just wanted to figure out who it was and took me along for the ride.

lyrics

You got the new disease
You knew his hands were not clean
You were the Cherokee
You bought his land of the free

It seems like such a waste
Selling out for seventh best
So come on save some face
Show the suit some soul

This man is not your friend
He breeds with non-believers
He just brings you the bends
He prays for all your demons

He just adds salt to taste
He can't see that saving grace
So come on save some face
Show the suit your soul

So Go
Give it to the Man
Cause you do it better
Go give it to the Man
Cause you go forever
Cause you put him together

You got the new disease
You knew your hands were not clean
You got down on your knees
You served the man your soul
