This song was probably the biggest challenge to record so far. Also very fun. It was a total experiment from start to finish. There was no real formula to follow and few things I could reference. I started with a crazy organ and ran it through tons of guitar distortion, ended up cutting the drums out of the chorus and using hand-claps instead (and a harpsichord). I banged out an over the top piano idea for the bridge just for kicks and it won out over any guitar line we could muster. All in all, anything you would normally do for a chorus, verse, or bridge was thrown out the window and turned upside down. I took so many different angles on the beast that by the end of it, I felt about as chewed up as I look in the photograph :)
