I wrote this song on a reed organ and it grew into a three headed monster of a song. I recorded computer keyboard and mouse clicks, as well as scribbles with a pen and paper crumpling/ripping to create the intro beat. Mashed a few takes of Simon on drums together to give a small inkling of a marching band. We recorded tons of guitar, vocal harmonies, 3 different organ parts, piano, different acoustic guitar patterns, and too many xylophones to mention. By the end, the computer started crashing, so I knew it was about time to stop. :)
lyrics
Pull me out cause I want nothing less
Give me guns and kill this second best
Even if it takes a final breath
I sing
Give me ire when I got nothing left
Give me guts to put this mind to rest
Even when I'm sitting on my chest
I sing
And you could say it's
Coming just around the bend
You could swear it's gonna be your year
You could taste it
You could turn it all around
You could say you're getting awful clear
Shout it out cause they still need to hear
I ain't mixing up these tears for fears
Even if my people won't appear
I sing
Lift it through halls and out the doors
I don't catch the bug to know the cure
Even if I got four on the floor
I sing
Oh darling
I'm not saying it's cheap
Oh darling
I'm not singing for free
Oh darling
I'm not giving you cheek
Oh darling no
Oh darling
