This song crept in over the course of a few months. It started as an afterthought, something I would normally not pursue - but the melody kept coming back again and again. We recorded "Sunday Scream" together as a band and I added some bells and whistles (literally) the next day.
lyrics
Came upon a Sunday scream
Came upon the kerosene
You and I were all I see
You and I were golden
and I know you've grown wild
I'm coming back for a bite
Came upon the hottest dreams
Came upon the solid weeks
You and I swallowed the sea
You and I went all the way
And I know you're alright
I'm coming back for goodbye
'Cause I know what's right and wrong
I saw the light go off
I felt it all those years
Coming 'round the rear
The end was all you could see
Came upon a Philistine
Came upon some words too weak
You and I were always steep
even when I broke in
And I know you've grown wise
I'm coming back for the fight
'Cause I know what's right and wrong
I saw the light go off
I felt it all those years
Coming 'round the rear
The end was all you could leave
