about

I happened upon a carnival at Half Moon Bay up in California one foggy Sunday and just fell in love with the scene. The song came a year later.

lyrics

A million lights to warn us
The fair swung back around
And life clung to the surface
Safe and sound

Watch the crowd line up to try
That Spanish carnival ride
Mommies scream and children cry
Up in the sky

Tie ribbons to the girls and
Kiss underneath the leaves
Make chocolate covered fruit and
Sell it cheap

Watch the crowd line up to try
The Spanish carnival ride
Mommies scream and children try
To touch the sky

Though I know it's all a game
Going up and around and down again
Though I know it's up to me

I still forget
I still forget
I still forget
